Missouri Basketball hits the road for the fifth time this season as the Tigers travel to Fayetteville, Ark., to face the Arkansas Razorbacks for the 40th time in series history … Missouri is 2-2 on the road this year and is looking for its second road win in league play … The Tigers have been close in each of their last two road games, dropping games at Vanderbilt and LSU by a combined nine points.

Missouri is looking for its first victory in Bud Walton Arena … The Tigers are 0-6 in the facility and each of the last three meetings in Fayetteville have been decided by a combined eight points.

Of course Mike Anderson spent five seasons at Missouri and helped the Tigers to three consecutive NCAA Tournaments, with a Big 12 Tournament title in 2009 … Anderson was 111-56 in his five years in Columbia.

Has anyone in college basketball been better than Jabari Brown in the month of January? … The junior has scored 20 points in four consecutive games, including a career high 28 points last Tuesday night at LSU, and since moving into “2014” (seven games), the Oakland native is averaging 22.0 points on 56 percent shooting from the floor, 55 percent shooting from three-point range and 83 percent shooting at the charity stripe … Since the start of league play Brown paces the conference in scoring (22.0), field goal percentage (.539), three point percentage (.553) and three-point makes per game (3.5) … Last week the Oakland, Calif., native averaged 26.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists on 61 percent shooting from the floor and 75 percent shooting from three-point range.

The tandem of Brown (19.5) and Jordan Clarkson (18.8) continue to lead the Tigers offensively this season  … The pair combined for 46 points against South Carolina and are the top scoring tandem in the Southeastern Conference … The duo has reached double figures in all-19 games played this season … The last Tiger to open a season with 19 consecutive double-figure scoring games was Kareem Rush (21 consecutive) in 2000-01.

With Brown surging into league play the Tigers have a pair of award candidates in the backcourt … Last Wednesday Jordan Clarkson was named to the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 list … Clarkson was one of college basketball’s Top 25 players through the first half of the 2013-14 season and ranks among the SEC’s leaders in scoring (18.8) and assists (3.3), which includes a team-leading 10 20-point games.

Mizzou is 15-4 on the season and its four losses are by a combined 16 points to Illinois (1), Vanderbilt (3), Georgia (6) in overtime and at LSU (6) … The Tigers are accustomed to playing close ball games this year, with 11 of their last 12 outcomes being decided by 10 points or less.

Earnest Ross continues to move up the SEC’s career active leader board for scoring and rebounding … The Cary, N.C., native began his collegiate career at Auburn and ranks No. 4 among active scorers in the league with 1,114 points and No. 3 among active rebounders with 600 … So far this season Ross is averaging a career high 14.0 points and is logged his second double-double of the year with 16 points and 11 rebounds at LSU.
