Susan Marie Cunningham, 68, a resident of Mountain Home formerly of McGehee, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 14, 2012, in Mountain Home.

She was born May 28, 1944, in Camden, Arkansas to Lewis and Frances Ray Ritter. After graduating from Ouachita Baptist University in 1966 with a Bachelors of Science in Education, Susan was a school teacher working in Fort Worth, Texas and Wabaseeka and Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She married Thomas Jefferson Cunningham on August 21, 1966, in Camden, Arkansas. During Susan’s 46 years as a preacher’s wife, she has witnessed to hundreds of people, directed an untold number of bible schools and church events and served on 15 mission teams to Honduras. When asked what her greatest accomplishments in life have been Susan replied “Tom, Becca, Tyler, Andrew, Mason, Addison and Avery all loving Jesus”. Susan is a member of the Mountain Home Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Ritter.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Dr. Tommy Cunningham of Mountain Home; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Alesheia Cunningham of Lake Cormorant, Mississippi; a daughter and son-in-law, Becca and Jamie Camp of Mountain Home; her mother, Frances Ritter of Conway; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and David Jones of Conway; five grandchildren, Tyler, Addison and Avery Cunningham, all of Lake Cormorant, Mississippi and Andrew and Mason Camp, both of Mountain Home and other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Mountain Home with the Rev. Billy Beech officiating. Burial will be in Kirby’s Tucker Memorial Cemetery near Mountain Home under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Rev. Bill Hughes, Dr. Ronnie Norris, Dr. James Young, Allen Bowman, Jimmy Barrett, Todd Bowen, Delton Calhoun, Dr. Carroll Dew, Mark Day and Dr. John Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of the Mountain Home Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 15, 2012, at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
