Henry “Hank” Baker, 84, a resident of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the Baxter Regional Medical Center.

He was born September 27, 1929, in Matlock, Iowa to the late Mark and Lucy (DeVries) Baker. Hank married Patricia Marie Kirk on June 5, 1950, in Jackson, Minnesota. He retired from Ford Motor Company’s Twin Cities Assembly Plant in St. Paul, Minnesota as the security, fire and safety supervisor after 30 years of service. While working at Ford Motor Company Hank received the Community Service Award. Hank was given a temporary security assignment from the secret service; protecting President Kennedy, President Johnson and Vice President Humphrey. He was charter member of the Thompson Grove Volunteer Fire Department, the Thompson Grove Boy Scout Troop Committee and the Red Cross Air Rescue Helicopter, the first in Minnesota. Hank was also a past president and member of the Twin Lakes Shrine Club, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Robert Burns Masonic Lodge #496 in Gainesville, Missouri, Past Patron of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Fellowship Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mountain Home.

His family will always remember the thousands of miles of family camping, being an avid fisherman and the best Grandpa. Hank was preceded in passing by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Pat Baker of Mountain Home, Arkansas; a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Deborah Baker of Brainerd, Minnesota; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Larry Nyeggen of Madison, Wisconsin; two sisters, Mary Baker and Freda Ward, both of Burnsville, Minnesota; four grandchildren and their spouses, Brent and Alison Baker of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota; Erin (Baker) and Ryan Traxler of Breezy Point, Minnesota; Bryce Nyeggen and Dr. Colleen Gillespie-Nyeggen of San Mateo, California; and Emily Nyeggen and her fiancé, Trevor Goldsmith of Burnsville, Minnesota; and a great-grandson, Calvin Traxler of Breezy Point, Minnesota.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Masonic Funeral Rites by the Robert Burns Masonic Lodge #496 will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday.

The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Fellowship Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mountain Home with the Reverend Gary Tubb officiating. Interment will be private under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers will be Will Triplet, Ray Coahran, John Gilbert, Art Stone, Larry Gehrke and Frank Fusco.
