Chester Alvin Wilbanks, 89, of Mountain View, Missouri departed this life on October 28, 2013 at his home. He was born on June 10, 1924 in Mountain View, the son of Lester and Mary (Souders) Wilbanks.

Visitation will be from 6-8 PM October 30 at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View. Funeral Services will be at 11 AM October 31 at Yarber Mortuary, with interment at Old City Cemetery in Mountain View.

Alvin was united in marriage to Emma Alice Roark on October 21, 1944 in Salem, Arkansas. To this union four children were born: Chester Lee, Carol Sue, Joyce Anna, and Larry Eugene.

Alvin is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dorothy Luellen; and one son, Larry Eugene.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Alice, of the home; one son, Chester Wilbanks and wife, Diane, of Rogers, AR; two daughters, Carol Putney and husband, Pete, of New Virginia, IA and Joyce Arbaugh and husband, John, of Fulton, TX; daughter-in-law, Elana Wilbanks Schouten of Sedalia, MO; two brothers, Leonard Charles Wilbanks and wife, Sonja, of Kansas City, MO and Robert Wilbanks of Brookston, IN; one sister, Lilly Burks, of Mountain View; 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and two on the way.

Alvin farmed most of his life. After retiring from farming, he and his two sons trucked grain across the Midwest. He enjoyed working and storytelling. He also loved spending time with his family.
