He was born May 1, 1923, in Evanston, Illinois to the late Theodore and Gertrude (Sargent) Schuster. Mr. Schuster was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army serving from 1941 until 1946 in the 187th Para-Glider Infantry, 11th Airborne Division. After his military service he worked as a carpenter. He loved fishing, bowling, archery and dancing the Waltz and Fox Trot on roller-skates. Mr. Schuster was preceded in death by his parents and his spouse, Janet M. Schuster.
Survivors include his daughter, Vivian Lea Carlen of St. Charles, Illinois; a granddaughter, Jennifer Leigh Lanciloti of Aurora, Illinois and two grandsons, Jason Jeremy LaFleur of Oak Park, Illinois and Air Force 1st Lieutenant, Robert Scott LaFleur of Dayton, Ohio.
