Arthur Bennett Haney, 85, son of Arthur and Stella (Castor) Haney was born December 9, 1927 in Eldorado, KS. He died September 27, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO.

He graduated from Houston High School in 1946 and served in the Army for 2 years.

He married Bonnie Adkison on March 18, 1951 and they shared 62 wonderful years together.

Bennett and Bonnie moved to the St. Louis area in 1963 and he worked for McDonald Douglas. Bennett retired from the United States Postal service in Chesterfield, MO in 1989. He and Bonnie returned to Houston and built their retirement home.

Bennett and Bonnie attended Houston First Christian Church for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Kermit Haney.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie of the home in Houston, MO, a nephew Rob Haney and wife Sandra, a niece Jeri Baker and husband Marty all of Houston, MO, a nephew Dewayne Green and wife Sharon of Waynesville, MO, and several great nephews and nieces.

Bennett enjoyed working on the computer researching family history; he loved sharing his genealogy finds with his family. Bennett loved his dogs and they loved him just as much!

Bennett is now enjoying the beauty of heaven, reunited with his loved ones that went on before him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Tuesday October 1, 2013 at Evans Funeral Home with services beginning at 2:00 P.M. with Don Elliott and Dan Peterka officiating. Burial will be in Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
