Catherine Louise Pluff, age 93, daughter of Francis and Mary (Stein) Pluff was born September 20, 1919 in St. Louis, MO. She passed away September 13, 2013 at the Texas County Memorial Hospital.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Arnold Pluff; two sisters and their spouses: Dorothy and George Wright and Marie and Joe Meinkoth; two nieces: Colleen Meinkoth and Polly Pluff and two nephews, Gary and David Pluff.

She is survived by one sister-in-law, Mildred Pluff (Ward) of Carrollton, Texas and her grandchildren John, Karen, and Amy and families; one nephew and spouse Rick and Jennifer Meinkoth of Millstadt, IL and their family Joshua, Michelle and Lorelei Hill; one niece and spouse, Mary and Doyle Henken of Houston, MO and their family James, Rachel and Gus Henken and Amy Henken and Charlie Reid and many friends.

Catherine grew up in the metropolitan St. Louis area, graduating from St. Teresa’s Academy in E. St. Louis, IL in 1939.

She worked in many places in her career, including the Public Library of E. St. Louis, IL, the City Directory Co., of St. Louis, International Shoe CO and Tober-Saifer Shoe CO.

When vacation time allowed she traveled to many places including Hawaii. She went to New York City several times and saw Broadway plays while she was there.

Catherine moved to Houston, MO in 2000 and was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. She was known for making shadow boxes for the church bazaar. She enjoyed making crafts, reading and watching classic movies. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Monday September 16, 2013 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, with Services beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Father Matt Rehrauer officiating. Burial will be in Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
