Ronald Keith Asplin, 65, of Birch Tree, Missouri departed this life on June 30, 2013 at his home. He was born August 9, 1947 in Birch Tree, Missouri, the son of Robert Lester and Edith May (Smotherman) Asplin.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 2 at Veterans Cemetery, Mountain View, MO under the direction of Yarber Mortuary.

He is preceded in death by his father and a granddaughter, Kelsey Asplin.

Survivors include one son, Ty Asplin and wife, Leslie, Birch Tree; one daughter, Stormie Asplin and husband, Todd, Mountain View; one brother, Bruce Asplin and wife, Tina, Birch Tree; four grandsons, Wyatt and Coleman Asplin, and Kegan and Gavin Roberts; one nephew, Justin Asplin and wife, Jennifer; one niece, Meagan Kile and husband, Matt; and a special friend, Trish Bullock.

Ronnie served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Expert M-14 Medal, Vietnam Combat Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and two Overseas Bars.

Ronnie retired after more than 30 years with the U.S. Forestry Service. He worked as a Timber Sale Administrator.

Ronnie enjoyed riding motorcycles all of his life. He also enjoyed fishing and being with friends.

He will be missed by family and friends.
