A Memorial service/visitation for Mary Margaret Glenn, 98, a longtime resident of West Plains, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2013, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Glenn passed away at her home April 20, 2013. She was born in Vernon County, Missouri and spent her childhood on a farm in the Walker community. Margaret graduated from Southwest Missouri State Teacher’s College. She was united in marriage to Harold Glenn on the day after her graduation, August 4, 1937. They spent 62 happy years together.

Margaret taught English at Central Junior High in West Plains from 1958 until 1967. She enjoyed teaching and was known by her students as an outstanding teacher. Margaret and Harold owned and operated West Plains Music Store for many years. Margaret was active in the First United Methodist Church where she was an original member of the Elizabeth Group.

Margaret is survived by all four children: Judy Steele, husband, Jim, Henderson, Nevada, Harold Allen Glenn, wife, Susan, Corona, California, Charles Glenn, wife, Carolyn, West Plains, Missouri and Catherine Bray, husband Lloyd “Bud”, West Plains, Missouri; her ten grandchildren, Douglas Duke, Steven Glenn, Derek Duke, Brian Glenn, Jann May, Andrea Glenn Monroe, Kristin Glenn, Kevin Bray, Keith Bray and Justin Bray and her ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Glenn in 1999 and her brother Joseph Hightower in 1960.

Margaret enjoyed her last years at home with the loving support of her care providers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church to support the West Plains Christian Health Clinic, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at
