Ruth Ann Swetnam, of Plato, MO passed away July 19, 2012 at Texas County Memorial Hospital. She was born July 20, 1941 in Harrisburg, IL to James Alvin and Hariette Rose (Baldwin) Wren, just shy of 71 years old, surrounded by her family.

Ruth grew up in Harrisburg, IL and graduated high school from Harrisburg High School. She married Leroy Swetnam on June 15, 1963, and unto this union three children were born.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter; Dena Janell Swetnam and seven brothers and sisters; Charlie Edward Dean Wren, Gerald Leon Wren, Clarence Lyle Wren, James Alvin Wren, Wilma McClendon, Neva Janell and John Robert Wren.

Ruth is survived by her husband of forty nine years, Leroy Swetnam, of the home in Plato, MO, her son, Michael Leroy Swetnam, of Springfield, MO, and her daughter, Karen Lynn Swetnam of Plato, MO, her special grandson, Tyler Edward Leroy Williams, and two sisters; Mary Louise Sanchez of Waukegan, IL and Mildred Gollier of Plainfield, IL and many other numerous family and friends.

She had many talents; she enjoyed doing ceramics and painting figurines, playing computer games and reading. Ruth also loved to sing! She would take her karaoke machine to different churches around the area and where she would sing gospel music. Ruth’s favorite past time was just being around her family.

Ruth will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
