Mrs. Velma Knox, 74, of Mountain Grove passed away Thursday, November 21.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 10 AM at the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 6-8 PM at the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.

Memorial contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation and left at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Alma Augusta Gainey, 96, a resident of Mountain Home formerly of Cherry Hill, New Jersey passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013, at her residence.

She was born April 21, 1917, in Camden, New Jersey to the late William H. and Bertha (Taylor) Townsend. Alma worked many years as a secretary also many years of her life she was a world traveler. After her travelling she relocated to the Twin Lakes about 30 years ago from New Hampshire where she was content staying at home. Alma loved to cross stich. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd Leroy Gainey, a daughter, Dianne Linda Gainey and two sisters, Beatrice Finnegan and Eleanor McCoy.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and George Costellan of Mountain Home; a granddaughter and her husband, Cathy and James Jr. Zulker of Mountain Home and two great grandchildren, James III and Thomas Zulker.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.

Archie E. Leonard, 93, of Mountain View passed away Friday, Nov. 22 in Mountain View.

Services will be 3 PM Monday, November 25 at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Mountain View, with interment in the Old City Cemetery, under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Mountain View.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Sunday, November 24 at Duncan Funeral Chapel in Mountain View.

Veral Gilbert “Buster” Davis was born March 15, 1919 in Mountain View, Missouri, the son of Walter Robert Davis and Grace (Thomas) Davis. He passed away November 22, 2013 at Mountain View Healthcare in Mountain View, Missouri at the age of 94 years, 8 months and 7 days.

Visitation will be Sunday November 24, 2013, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Yarber Mortuary. Funeral Services will be Monday November 25, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Yarber Mortuary, with interment at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Buster was married in Mountain View on May 1, 1939 to Eunice Nadine Colter, who preceded him in death on September 11, 1999.

Buster worked for the WPA and was self-employed in the timber industry, owning his own sawmill for several years, hewing ties for the railroad and cutting logs. After this, he worked for Angelica Uniform Co. in Mountain View as a cutter and spreader.

In 1966, Buster was in an accident and was then permanently disabled.

Buster is survived by seven children, Velma Burnett and husband, Chuck, of Liberty, MO, Wayne Davis of Mountain View, Eva Hubbard and husband, Jon, of Parkville, MO, Jeanne Taber of Mountain View, Wanda Throckmorton and husband, Orville, of Warsaw, MO, Eddie Davis and wife, Judy, of Mountain View, Hellen Cummings and husband, Jim, of Mountain View; 20 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; 20 great great grandchildren; 2 step great great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Buster is preceded in death by his wife, parents, five sisters, and one son-in-law, Howard Lee Taber.

Eva Georgia Fair, 98 of Ash Flat, Arkansas died on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Ash Flat Nursing & Rehab.

Born Thursday, June 10, 1915 in Etowah, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Joseph Horton and Lessie Smith Horton.

Survived by sisters,Ima Gene McDanielle and Gladis Jones.

Interment will be in Shiloh Cemetery, Ash Flat, AR.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to on Monday, at Heath Funeral Home of Highland. Funeral service will be 10:00am in Heath Oak Hill Chapel with Bro Jack Richardson Officiating.

Tristan Michael Durham, age 16, son of Kevin and Delilah Jean “Jeanie” (Bilderback) Durham was born July 23, 1997 in Rolla, MO. He passed away November 20, 2013 at Texas County Memorial Hospital, Houston, MO from injuries he suffered in a car accident.

Visitation will be held Saturday November 23, 2013 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the Houston High School Gymnasium with services beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Brother Don Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Arthur’s Creek Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, D’artangan Durham, his Grandma Sue Hodges and his Grandpa Delmar Hale.

Tristan is survived by his parents, Kevin and Jeanie Durham of Houston, MO, three sisters; Christina Campbell of Licking, MO, Tabitha Ford and husband Andrew of Hopkinsville, Kentucky and Talissa Durham of Houston, MO, grandparents; C.L. and Liz Durham of Cabool, MO, Marvin and Brenda Bilderback of Rolla, MO and Linda Hale of Cabool, MO, three very special nephews; Trenton Campbell, Hayden Topping and Kaiden Ford, five aunts; Missy Hale, Sheila Hunter, Stacy Stark, Barbara Visage and Sara Dodds, two uncles; Brent Durham and Greg Hale and many friends.

Tristan was baptized by Jeff Moore and attended the First Christian Church in Houston, MO.

He was a fun loving, wise cracking, full of life and laughter kind of boy, who never met a stranger. He had many things he enjoyed doing, some of them include; taekwondo, deer hunting, float trips, video games, helping his dad do auto body on vehicles and riding four wheelers. He received numerous trophies at many four wheeler competitions. Tristan was a former member of the High School choir, and was working on dual credits for college. He just started working at Spring Garden, working after school and weekends. This summer Uncle Brent took him under his wing and was teaching him construction. Special days were birthdays when he always requested Mom’s homemade chicken and noodles.

Although his time on earth was cut short, he made a tremendous impact on many lives. He will be greatly missed, and we look forward to seeing him again!

Paul C. Rasmussen, 70, a resident of Mountain Home passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013, at the Baxter Regional Medical Center.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 24, 2013, at Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 25, 2013, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Western Hills Loop in Mountain Home with Bishop Tom Fox officiating. Burial will be in Douglas Cemetery near Mountain Home under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.

He was born December 16, 1942, in Woodland, California to the late Paul Neils and Clarice Eleanor (Bartholomew) Rasmussen. Paul married Geraldine Frances Hatfield on December 21, 1963 in Fairfield, California. He retired from the United States Navy Civil Service as an electrician after 36 years. Paul worked at Mare Island Navy Yard in the electric shop and then as a supervisor in the Gyro Compass Shop which manufactured compasses vital to the operation of nuclear submarines. In August of 1995 Paul and Gerry relocated to Mountain Home from Vacaville, California. Paul worked at Mountain Communications in Mountain Home and was a Ham Radio operator, his call sign was KA6VAN. He was a member of the local Ham Radio Club as well as the Mercury Amateur Radio Association. Paul was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mountain Home.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Gerry Rasmussen of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Jill Rasmussen of Alamo, Nevada; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Sig Hansen of Carpentersville, Illinois, Elizabeth Green of Mountain Home and Sarah and Corey Shelton of Mountain Home; 16 grandchildren and numerous friends.

Pallbearers will be Sig Hansen, Justin Rasmussen, Chance Williams and grandsons, Jacob Moore, Caleb Hansen and Ammon Rasmussen. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Hayes, Corey Shelton, Gilbert Hatfield, Lee Powell and Bill Rice.

Inez R. Upchurch, 88, a resident of Mountain Home passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in Mountain Home.

She was born February 2, 1925, in Buffalo City to the late Harvey and Laura (Sartin) Stevens. Inez married Raymond Upchurch on December 1, 1951, in Eureka Springs. Inez was preceded in death by her parents; a son, W.C. Fletcher; two sisters and a brother.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Raymond Upchurch; a son and daughter-in-law, Scotty and Lynn Upchurch of Ava, Missouri; two daughters, Patsy Cunningham of Charleston, South Carolina and Cathy Starkey (Mike Hoffman) of Mountain Home; five grandchildren, Bruce Manchester, Miste Manchester, Tonya DeVine, Keith Upchurch and Chris Caststeel and 11 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2013, at Baxter Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Susie Wilson officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.

Maria Laxton, age 56 of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born December 9, 1956 in Rico Riestemp to Trinidad Zuniga-Los Aldamas Nuevo Leon Mexico.

Funeral Services will begin Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Highland Assembly of God Church located in Highland, Arkansas with Pastor Chris Clem officiating. Burial will follow in the Turkey Pen Cemetery located in Hardy, Arkansas. Visitation will be Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the Highland Assembly of God Church from 2:00 p.m. until service time. All arrangements are by Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Arkansas.

Maria was a foreman at the hospital and a housewife. She was a member of the Highland Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her husband Scott Laxton of the home; two daughters Yvonne Lopez and husband Marcelino of San Jose, California and Melinda Armendariz of Freemont, California; four brothers, Marcelino Zuniga, Fedeinlcio Zuniga, Mike Zuniga, and John Zuniga; one sister, Anita Gonzalaz; five Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Cecil R. Cooper, 75, Des Moines, Iowa, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Amy Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Cecil graduated to heaven on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Unity Point Health Des Moines Lutheran. He was born July 13, 1938 in Leota, Missouri to Cecil and Leona (Butcher) Cooper. He married Phyllis McBride and following her death, married Ellen Moeller. He was a Charter Member of Grace Church in Des Moines.

Cecil is survived by his wife, Ellen; sons, Wayne Cooper, wife Kathleen and David Cooper, wife Lynda; daughter, Debra Cooper; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and sister, Nola Ritchie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and mother of his children, Phyllis.
