A Funeral Service for Donald Terry Miller of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, will be 11:00 am, Monday, May 18, 2015, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bull Shoals, AR, with Reverend Dr. Fred Taylor officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of service.
Donald passed away May 12, 2015, at his home in Bull Shoals, Arkansas at the age of 83. He was born April 22, 1932, in Henry County, Indiana, the son of Olaf “Jimmy” and Lola Miller. Donald was a 1950 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School in IN. He married Elaine Michna Knox on June 16, 2000, in Hot Springs, AR and worked as a Contract Estimator for Raytheon, California. Donald was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. . Donald lived in Bull Shoals since 1997, moving from Goleta, CA. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge #1714 and the Bull Shoals Hoevel-Barnett VFW Post #1341, Past President of the Bull Shoals Retired Fisherman’s Club and a member of the Bull Shoals Presbyterian Church. Don was an avid sports’ fan whether it be NASCAR, the Indianapolis Colts, the San Francisco 49’ers or the Razorbacks. He was an amateur pilot and owned his own airplane and he loved fishing for bass.
Donald is survived by wife, Elaine Miller of Bull Shoals, AR; daughters, Donna Renee (Ben) Rodriguez of Oak View, CA, Kristi (Robert) Perotte of Santa Ynez, CA, Lori (Steve) Lindgren of Goleta, CA; step-son, Arnold (Laura) Knox of Mountain Home, AR; sisters, Adrienne Doyle and Bonnie (David) Bell of Middletown, IN; grandchildren, Ben Rodriguez, Jr., Nikki Sage, Josh Ward, Baylee Perotte, Kristin and Trevor Lindgren, Billy and Steven Knox: great-grandchildren, Olivia, Amber, Benny, Lily, and Aiden,: several nieces and nephews and canine companion, Tito.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Dick Doyle.
Burial will be in the Kirby’s Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, AR. Military Honors will be provided by the Hoevel-Barnett VFW Post #1341 of Bull Shoals and the United States Army. Memorials may be made to Bull Shoals Presbyterian Church or Hospice of the Ozarks.
