He was born March 8, 1934, in Woodstock, Illinois to the late Adelbert Joseph and Marie Bernice (Norbert) Anderson. Del married Margaret Lois Hedge on December 7, 1976, in Woodstock, Illinois. He was an owner/operator truck driver, an estate manager in Barrington Hills, Illinois and ranch manager at the Coulter Ranch in Mountain Home. Del loved horses and camping, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. His family all knew him as the man who could fix anything. Del was a member of the St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church in Springdale. In addition to his parents, Del was preceded in death by his uncle, Lavergne Anderson.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Peggy Anderson of Mountain Home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Valerie Anderson of Woodstock, Illinois, Brian and Judy Anderson of Ivyland, Pennsylvania and Steve Anderson of Hebron, Illinois; a daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Chris Sebree of Mountain Home; a brother, Thomas Anderson of Woodstock, Illinois; three sisters, Ellen Margaret Anderson of Wayside, Georgia; Katherine Anderson and Polly Anderson of Woodstock, Illinois; ten grandchildren, Sean, Juliette, Devon, Amber, Brandon, Vanessa and Christopher Anderson and Christian, Christiana and Sydelle Sebree; and a great grandson, Hayden Hanks.
The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2015, at the Conner-Hankins Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Father John Atchison officiating.
Burial will be in McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock, Illinois under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
