City officials say that waste items should be left with your trash, and the items will be picked up on the residents’ normal trash day. Officials say regular refuse should be separated from large items like sofas and mattresses, metal and white goods like washers and dryers; yard waste; and recyclable items. Refrigerators and freezers with compressors can’t be picked up, unless certification ps provided that a licensed technician has removed the freon.
Brush and yard waste can be taken to the Solid Waste Transfer Station on Goodhard Drive for free the week of the clean-up.
Also, the transfer station will be collecting batteries, paint, used motor oil, used antifreeze, old computers, old TVs, old microwaves and pesticides and herbicides for free on Saturday, April 20.
City officials stress that these clean-up services are for households only.
