(Houston) – Texas County Memorial Hospital will host a public grand opening ceremony and ribbon cutting, for the 59,000 square foot expansion project on Thursday, May 16 at 1 PM in front of the new hospital construction entrance.
Ozark Radio News spoke with TCMH president and CEO Wes Murray, who told us that events start at 11 AM with a special ceremony with the Missouri Free Masons:
Murray says that tours and refreshments will be available until 6 PM that evening. The expansion, the largest in the hospital’s 55-year history, features two floors of new patient care areas. Despite the open house, work continues on another section of the expansion project:
Murray says that visitors during the grand opening will be able to tour a small section of the second floor, which includes patient rooms, during the May 16 event.
Work also continues on a FEMA tornado safety room, which is the third phase of the project. This phase is being funded through a capital campaign by TCMH:
The hospital is located at 1333 S. Sam Houston Boulevard in Houston.
