(Houston) – Over 250 people gathered in the Houston Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds building this past Saturday, October 26, to attend the Miss Texas County Pageant.
The youth competition took place at 1 PM, followed by the Miss & Outstanding Teen competitions at 6 PM. During the youth competition Sara Jones was crowned Tiny Miss Texas County 2014, Katy Evans was crowned Little Miss Texas County 2014, Katelyn Smith was crowned Petite Miss Texas County 2014, and Elizabeth Turpin was crowned Preteen Miss Texas County 2014.These winners will be able to go onto the Misses & Sweetheart of Missouri Pageant next Summer in Mexico, MO to via for the state titles.
In the Miss & Outstanding Teen competitions Mackenzie Mattix was crowned Miss Texas County 2014, Alexis Fuwell was crowned Miss Texas County’s Outstanding Teen 2014, and Madison Horner was crowned Miss Southern Missouri’s Outstanding Teen 2014.
Mattix shared with Ozark Radio News her advice to others who want to join the pageant world and her plans for the year as Miss Texas County:

Miss Missouri 2013, Shelby Ringdahl, was the emcee for the event along with the former Miss Texas County Jeni Dixon. Ringdahl who was crowned Miss Texas County in 2012 gave her reflection of the pageant:
