(West Plains) – West Plains City Hall will be the site for a public meeting on Thursday concerning the upcoming Preacher Roe Blvd. sidewalk project. City Administrator Tom Stehn spoke with Ozark Radio News and gave us more information:
The city plans to receive bids in the spring of 2013 with a completion of the project by mid-summer. The engineering firm, CMT (Crawford, Murphy and Tilly, Inc.) will be available December 20 as well as city staff for any questions or comments the public may have.
During this public meeting the Parks and Recreation Department will have displays of the three parks that will receive new playground equipment, Kelly Park, Lofton Park, and Wayhaven Park. Along with new playground equipment, each of the three parks will have handicap parking, ADA accessible sidewalks to the new equipment, and fall protection mats with the new equipment. Butler Children’s Park will have fall protection installed to go along with the current equipment.
Sidewalks and public parks were two of the top issues people wanted addressed by the Capital Improvements tax passed in West Plains earlier this year.
