21-year-old Jacob Caple was reportedly clocked going 112 mph in a 55 mph zone around 4 PM Wednesday. The vehicle, which was heading westbound on Highway 178 in Baxter County, was pursued by a Baxter County Deputy and later lost. A short time later Caple’s vehicle was reportedly observed by Mountain Home Police and was found at Baxter Regional Medical Center, where Caple was arrested.
Caple allegedly admitted to officers he saw the lights from both the deputy’s and the officer’s vehicles, and was on his way to the hospital to see a family member who had been taken there earlier in the day. Caple was taken into custody without incident and charged with Speeding, Reckless Driving, Felony Fleeing in a Vehicle, No Seat Belt, and Possession of Oxycotin.
Caple was held at report time on $3500 bond.
