(Jefferson City) – On Tuesday, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon appointed Charles “Ray” Weter of Nixa as the new Christian County Eastern District Commissioner. The position became vacant upon the resignation of Commissioner Tom Huff earlier this month.
Weter, a Republican, has served as the State Representative for the 142nd Legislative District, which covers portions of Christian and Taney Counties, since 2005. In the private sector, Weter served as a health care provider for more than 40 years, including 12 years as a respiratory therapist and 28 years as chief of perfusion services for cardiac surgery for Cox Health Systems.
A press release from Nixon’s office says Weter has resigned his position as State Representative effective immediately.
