(West Plains) – Ladies interested in learning the tools to improving ones health should come to this year’s Ladies First event Thursday June 27 from 4:30-8PM at the West Plains Civic Center.
This free event is being hosted by the Ozarks Medical Center and will include health education presentations, booths from area businesses, exercise demonstrations and fabulous prizes; including a $500 travel voucher.
This year’s health care speakers will include Dr. Clara Applegate, OMC Neurologist, will be speaking on the stroke prevention and treatment at 5 PM, at 5:45 PM Dr. Jay Jones, OMC Orthopaedic Surgeon, is speaking on helpful procedures for women, at 6:30 PM Hilda Newell, Nurse Practitioner, will be speaking on sexual abuse and domestic violence, and at 7:15 PM Dr. Aaron Mills a Family Practice Physician at Burton Creek Medical Clinic, is speaking on weight loss.
To qualify for the grand prize, women should stop by the exercise booth, where there will be demonstrations and information on many different types of fitness options, including Flo Fitness demonstrations, “mommy and me” exercises, and aquatics.
Senior Executive Director Gay Watson said this is the fifth year for Ladies First and this year’s theme is Beach Party. In 2012 400 women were in attendance.
