(West Plains) – The Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) at Missouri State University-West Plains and the Ozarks Small Business Incubator (OzSBI) are teaming up to offer the class “Crowdfunding 101” from 6-9PM Thursday, July 25, at the OzSBI in downtown West Plains.
The class will be led by Jason Graf, chief executive officer of CrowdIt.com in Springfield. Graf will share with students information about the concept of “crowdfunding,” which is defined as “the practice of funding a project or venture by raising many small amounts of money from a large number of people, typically via the Internet,” according to the Oxford Dictionary online.
This class is a chance for area small business owners and entrepreneurs to learn how crowdfunding can benefit their businesses, the rules of crowdfunding, which crowdfunding portal is best for certain business ventures, and how to conduct a successful crowdfunding campaign.
Graf’s CrowdIt is a next generation crowdfunding platform for causes, projects and businesses for donation-based, reward/incentive-based and, soon to be, equity-based crowdfunding.
The course fee is $35 and $20 for OzSBI members. Seating is limited, so pre-registration is suggested. For more information or to register for “Crowdfunding 101,” call 417-256-9724.
