(Springfield) – The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) will be holding blood drives throughout the region in the first half of December.

Officials with CBCO say blood reserves at this time are code green, meaning that include at least a three-day supply for most blood types. Although levels are adequate, it takes around 275 donations per day to meet the needs of the thirty-eight hospitals that use CBCO products.

Blood drives will be held on the following dates at following locations:

December 10, 1-4 PM: Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, 2004 Crestview St., Ava
December 10, 3:30-7 PM: Church of Christ, Business 60, Rogersville
December 12, 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM: VFW Post 3770, POW/MIA Lane, Mountain Grove
December 14, 12-6 PM: Mansfield High School, 315 W. Ohio, Mansfield
December 14, 1-5:30 PM: First Christian Church, 202 E. State Route 17, Houston

For the eighteenth year in a row, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) will participate in the Miracle of Giving Blood Drive event, which runs December 10-31. All participants at any CBCO blood drive during the Miracle of Giving event will receive a 15 oz. dishwasher-safe ceramic campfire mug.

Eligibility requirements include weighing at least 110 pounds, being in general good health and having required ID.

A single blood donation can save the lives of up to three people. For more information about this blood drive, check out our website at or call 1-800-280-5337.
