(West Plains) – The Samaritan Outreach Center in West Plains is in desperate need of food.

The center said in an email to Ozark Radio News that they are most in need of meat-based food, such as canned meats, small rolls of hamburger meat, freezer-ready meat, and bacon. Also needed are bread and eggs, and food items for children.

Other items that are needed include baby wipes, diapers in sizes 4, 5, and 6, and baby soap.

Officials with the Samaritan Outreach Center say that donations drop during the summer while food requests rise, which puts a strain on their supplies. Sometimes, they say, summer is harder than the cold winter months, because people think and act on donating during the holiday season, but seem to forget the summer months can be hard as well.

Donations can be dropped off at their new location, 715 Missouri Ave. For a full list of items, call 417-257-7792.
