(Alton) – Over the last 50 years the story of the time The Beatles came to the Ozarks has been told and retold over and over until the story itself has been changed so much, it has become a legend to the people of this area.

However, according to the President of the Alton Community Foundation, Brenda Ledgerwood, this legend is more than just a story, it’s a fact:

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Beatles coming to Pigman Ranch, the Alton Community Foundation is helping to put on the first ever Beatlemania Festival. Ledgerwood shared that this festival will include not only music and vendors, but a documentary as well:

When asked if the Beatlemania could become an annual event for the Ozarks, Ledgerwood gave us her thoughts:

The Liverpool Legends concert will be held on Friday, September 12, at the West Plains Civic Center and the festival will follow on Saturday on the Courthouse Square in Alton. Tickets for the concert are available at the Civic Center Box Office, the Oregon County Courthouse, and on www.ticketmaster.com.
