(Mountain Home) – Two men were arrested this morning after authorities went to a Mountain Home residence.

A press release from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office states that deputies went to search a residence at 11 Costner Ln. for 50-year-old Bobby Morris on an outstanding felony warrant. While at the residence, officers say they found found a 2008 Yamaha scooter in the back yard. After running the vehicle identification number (VIN) through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database, it was found that the scooter, valued at $1,949, had been stolen from a residence in Briarcliff on February 19. The stolen scooter was seized and taken into evidence, and a warrant for the arrest of Bobby Morris was issued on April 29.

Upon arrival at the residence Thursday, authorities made contact with 35-year-old Scott Vest, who was standing outside. Vest reportedly told officers Morris was not at the home, but he was found inside. After arresting both men, police say they found approximately two grams of methamphetamine in Vest’s in his pants pocket, which was seized and taken into evidence.

Morris was held on charges of Theft by Receiving and a parole violation. Bond on the Theft warrant is $5,000, with a no bond hold on the parole violation. Morris will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on May 8.

Vest was booked on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance, Obstructing Governmental Operations, and a misdemeanor Failure to Appear charge. Vest was released after posting bond in the amount of $5,570. He will appear in Circuit Court also on May 8.
