(Willow Spring)- The Willow Springs City Council met for a regular council meeting on Monday, April 21, at 7PM.

During this recent meeting the council members reviewed the results from the April 8, general municipal election. Following the review City Clerk Alicia Worley swore in Susan Rackley as Ward I Alderman and Troy Yonker as Ward II Alderman.

In the meeting Mayor Jay Waggoner signed a proclamation from the Christo’s House to take a stand against rape and proclaiming April 24, 2014 as Denim Day.

Myles Smith with the Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative visited during the meeting and shared with the council that as of right now four other towns have signed the Support of Affordable Electricity Resolution and he is currently making rounds to other towns.

City Administrator Bob Pollard informed the council about the current water dispenser and the repairs that are needed. He suggested that the city stop using the current dispenser and start using the metered hydrant located at the Fire Department. Pollard also let the council know that the city is currently charging 25 cents for 250 gallons of water and suggested that they raise the rate. The council agreed that the rate needs to be raised and to figure out the details on how to use the Fire Department hydrant.

The council also voted and approved Bill 14-04, which was a resolution for the City Council to give support for affordable electricity.
