(West Plains) – The West Plains School District will offer two free week long summer enrichment academies for grades 5-12.

The first academy will begin on Monday, May 19, through Thursday, May 22, followed by the second academy beginning on Tuesday, May 27, through Friday, May 30. Each session will be held at the West Plains High School or the West Plains Middle School from 8:30 AM and will end at 12 PM.

Students will learn and explore through a variety of experiences and opportunities. The workshops include choices such as Rocket Science, Live Saving Procedures and Dealing with Emergencies, Extreme Physics, Screen Printing Design & Printing, Engineering Simple Machines, Cupcake Wars, Creative Writing and Current Events.

If your student is interested in attending, please visit to complete a survey of interest. The district will contact you with specifics for your courses once the rosters have been finalized.

Surveys must be submitted by Friday, April 25.
