(Comanche County) – The remains of a woman who had lived in West Plains have been positively identified by Texas authorities.

KTAB-TV reported January 9 that DNA results confirmed that a body found in July 2013 in Rising Star, Texas belonged to native Amber Lowery, whose husband, Michael Lowery of Rising Star, was arrested and charged with her murder.

Amber had been missing since July 23, 2013. KTAB reported that human remains were found several days later on property near the Lowery home.

Michael Lowery was arrested in Texas July 30 and has been held in jail on $1 million bond, with a court date set for mid-February.

The Lowery’s had an incident in West Plains in 2013, in which Michael was arrested and charged with assault for allegedly breaking Amber’s nose during a confrontation at a local motel.
