(West Plains) – The West Plains Police and Fire Departments received a handful of calls reporting the smell of gas inside and outside their buildings on Monday evening, December 10. However, according to a Summit Gas Company representative, that gas smell wasn’t natural gas, and that the smell had possibly came from a leaking propane delivery truck.

A representative from the Fire Department spoke with Ozark Radio News outside of the OMC Urgent Care Clinic Monday evening, and shared that calls came from a number of places along Kentucky Avenue, Jan Howard Expressway, County Club Drive, Imperial Drive, at Bradford Square, West View Apartments and Nursing Home, and at Morlan-Shell Ford, among other places.

If you smell gas in your home or business you should call 911.
