(Mansfield) – A longtime firefighter with the Mansfield Fire Department has passed away.

Chief Byron Clark announced on the department’s Facebook page Saturday that firefighter Andrew Warren Cody passed away in the fire station Friday at 7:08 PM. Other firefighters there attempted to revive him.

At this time, the cause of death is unknown.

Cody served the Mansfield Fire Department for over 23 years as a Firefighter, Captain, and Assistant Fire Chief.

A firefighter funeral will be held on Wednesday at 1 PM at the Holman-Howe chapel at 209 N. Lincoln St. in Mansfield, with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery west of Hartville. Visitation will take place from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Wednesday prior to the service. Chief Byron Clark says there will be an emergency vehicle procession to the cemetery.
