(Mountain Home) – A Midway man is accused of smuggling urine into court proceedings in Mountain Home on Wednesday.
36-year-old Shawn Eugene Austin was arrested Wednesday afternoon on charges of obstructing governmental operations.
A press release from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office states that Austin was appearing before Circuit Judge Shawn Womack on a Contempt of Court proceeding, and was ordered to submit a urine sample for drug testing while at the court complex. That’s when a probation officer who escorted Austin to the restroom discovered Austin had allegedly duct-taped a plastic container of urine to his scrotum.
The court bailiff was summoned to assist, and he subsequently arrested Austin for obstructing governmental operations after the completion of the court proceeding.
Austin was transported to the Baxter County Detention Center for booking and was released after posting bond in the amount of $240. He will appear in District Court on the charges October 13.
