(Houston) – The Texas County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees has decided to shut down the Summersville Clinic to save on operating costs.

Wes Murray, chief executive officer at TCMH, told board members at their July 23 meeting that due to continual monthly losses associated with the TCMH Summersville Community Clinic that they would be closing the clinic by August 29. Dr. Diana Koenig will only be seeing patients two days a week at the TCMH Medical Complex in Houston. Murray explained to the board that personnel at the clinic have found other employment inside and outside the hospital system as well.

Murray says the hospital should be out from under the clinic’s significant monthly losses by the end of next month due to the clinic closure.

Linda Pamperien, chief financial officer at TCMH, reported that inpatient and outpatient revenues were down for the month of June, and TCMH ended the month with a negative bottom line of $192,051.72. The year to date bottom line is also negative $572,065.32.
