(Willow Springs) – Willow Springs City Administrator Bob Pollard is now the Emergency Management Director for the city, this after the meeting of the Willow Springs City Council on Thursday, January 24.
The man who previously held the job, Shawn Watson, no longer works for the city, according to city documents.
Also at the meeting, City Treasurer Beverly Hicks said the city is continuing to improve financially and structurally at a very good pace. She said during 2012 the city saw an increase of about 1.5% in sales tax and a 1% decrease in fuel tax. She said the city increased its spending on infrastructure in 2012 and was able to put some money in reserves for future upgrades.
The council also approved two typographical corrections in two previous bills, and the declaration of a 1,000 gallon propane tank, a 1988 Ford dump truck and the boom and bucket from the golf course backhoe as surplus items.
