(Houston) – At the start of 2013, Interventional cardiologist M. Faisal Khan, MD, will begin providing cardiology services to patients in the Texas County area at a monthly clinic at Texas County Memorial Hospital (TCMH).

Dr. Khan is a physician at Ozarks Medical Center Heart Care Services in West Plains. The two medical centers have worked together to establish the clinic in order to provide more convenient heart care services to patients in Texas County. The outreach clinic will begin on January 2 and will be held the first Wednesday of each month. Patients wishing to make an appointment should contact OMC Heart Care Services at 417-257-5950. The clinic will be held inside Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.

Interventional cardiologists provide diagnostic, routine and emergent interventional procedures for patients with cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Khan completed a residency in internal medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, MO, where he was chief resident. He went onto complete a fellowship in Echocardiography at the University of California in San Francisco and Fellowships in Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

In addition, he spent seven years as a Research Associate in the Department of Cardiology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He joined OMC Heart Care Services earlier this year.

In addition to providing clinical care at OMC, Dr. Khan performs interventional procedures in the OMC Cardiac Catheterization Lab. The procedures include using an angioplasty balloon and/or a stent to open clogged heart vessels that can cause heart attacks.

Previously, Dr. Khan practiced at the VA Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado; at Mountain West Medical Center in Tooele, Utah; at Ogden Regional Medical Center in Ogden, Utah; and at Doctors Medical Center in San Pablo, California.

He is Board Certified by the American Board for Internal Medicine.
